Central vacuum cleaner - why?
Central vacuum cleaner - fashion trend or useful helper?
(this article was published in the monthly magazine Vaše6)
Maybe you've heard of this kind of device, maybe you haven't. In the flood of new technologies that are installed in new or reconstructed houses and apartments today, you should certainly not forget the thing that, although it will not reduce your household's energy consumption, it will simply make everyday activities such as cleaning easier.
Almost everyone's wish is to have a clean and healthy home with minimal cleaning effort. The principle of a central vacuum cleaner is very simple. The central vacuum cleaner (placed, for example, in a utility room or garage) is connected to a distribution pipe that is branched to the vacuum cleaner sockets. The sockets are arranged in such a way that the most often 9 m long hose reaches wherever it is needed. It is enough to simply insert this light hose into the vacuum cleaner socket and all the vacuumed dirt disappears through the pipe outside the cleaned areas. In the unit (central vacuum cleaner), the air is filtered and blown outside the house. So you are sure that dirt, dust, bacteria and mites are removed outside the living space after vacuuming and, unlike a portable vacuum cleaner, will never return. It is the only cleaning system that guarantees 100% filtration efficiency of even the finest particles without the need to prove the quality of the filters.
The main advantages of central vacuuming include:
-quiet operation (the unit hums outside the living area)
-hygiene (certainty that all inhaled air with impurities is removed)
- the lifetime of the device, which is essentially unlimited
-maintenance-free operation (most vacuum cleaners are equipped with cyclone filtration, so the mostly washable filters need to be cleaned at very long intervals)
- easy operation (no dragging the vacuum cleaner and electric cord)
- high suction power with the possibility of regulation directly on the handle
- the possibility of using slotted drawers (you will appreciate, for example, in the kitchen)
How to choose the right vacuum cleaner
The heart of the system is of course the vacuum cleaner (sometimes also called a suction unit or aggregate). The selection of a vacuum cleaner is primarily governed by its suction power, which must ensure sufficient vacuum in all sockets. The length of the distribution lines and their route play an important role. The dealer of the central vacuum cleaner will advise you on where to place the wall and slot sockets, where to route the distribution lines, etc. When choosing the unit itself, pay attention to the quality of the design (the vacuum cleaner should serve you for a lifetime). Always prefer metal over plastic. The size of the waste container determines how often you will need to empty it. When choosing a control, price is usually the deciding factor. The signaling on the hose handle should primarily notify you of the need for service and the power level, which you can easily change (you will appreciate it, for example, when changing the vacuumed surface).
Installation and system components
Correct installation of the distributions is the key to the vacuum cleaner serving you properly. Traditional plastic distribution systems, which had to be glued and connected with various fittings, are now a thing of the past. They are replaced by flexible distribution systems (the so-called FLEXI system - manufactured by Variovac). You uncoil as many pipes as you need from the roll and shape them the way you need them. At the same time, the system maintains the minimum permissible bend so that dirt does not clog in any place. Thanks to this innovation, based on a good design, the entire pipe system can be installed very quickly and without errors, even without the presence of an expert, since leaks in the form of bad connections are excluded.
Where does the central vacuum cleaner come into play?
The central vacuum cleaner is suitable for use in almost all types of buildings and operations. This type of vacuuming is used in cabins, caravans (24 V versions are also available), apartments, family houses, hotels, administrative buildings and in industry.
A central vacuum cleaner is a useful helper.
Quiet operation is one of the great advantages of a central vacuum cleaner.
Every household will appreciate a VAC PAN slot on the floor or in a drawer under the line.
