How the recuperator and the recuperation unit are made
In April 2017, we again had the opportunity to look under the hood of the production of a complete recuperation unit and door curtains.
Pardubice is not only a city of gingerbread, a flat track and horse racing, but it is also a world-renowned manufacturer of ventilation technology from the company 2VV and Recutech recuperators, which are now imported all over the world.
With the production manager, we went step by step through the individual stations where the units are produced. We saw the creation of the castle-envelope of the unit, installation of heat and noise insulation, powder coating, installation of motors, dampers, sensors and other electronics, as well as how the output control of ventilation units with heat recovery takes place.
Did you know that the unit is tested before it goes on sale to activate the so-called anti-freeze protection? Inspection technicians are equipped with special sprays that subcool the sensors and monitor whether the unit reacts correctly. For many units, compressors are also tested for tightness in order to meet Eurovent conditions.
Subsequently, we moved to the production of recuperators, which we last visited 6 years ago. The number of machines that recuperators manufacture today in Pardubice has increased by an estimated 10x in a few years. The shapes of recuperators and heat exchange surfaces are constantly evolving. Almost the entire production is the responsibility of the machines and the room for error is minimal. Today, aluminum and plastic recuperators are produced here. We were lucky and got to see pieces from the development of the new special enthalpy recuperator.
Did you know that the thickness of aluminum sheet is much thinner than that of plastic? That today's trend in residential air conditioning is towards applications of only plastic recuperators?
We also learned about recommended cleaning methods for individual types of recuperators and took a sample of a plastic heat exchanger to our showroom.
